Why is my Char-Broil Smoker not heating up?
    • T
      Thomas WilliamsAug 18, 2025
If your Char-Broil Smoker isn't heating, first ensure it's properly plugged in. You should hear a beep when it's connected. If it's plugged in, turn the smoker off and unplug it from the outlet. Check your household circuit breakers or GFCI and reset or replace if necessary, using a GFCI rated for 15 amperes or more. Test the outlet with another working appliance. If it still doesn't work, try a different outlet on a different circuit. As additional steps, unplug and reconnect the thermostat and control panel connections. If problems persist, the thermostat, control panel display or power board kits may need replacement. Refer to the online Electrical Replacement Manual for detailed instructions.

Why does my Char-Broil Smoker keep tripping the circuit breaker?
    • J
      Jennifer LopezAug 20, 2025
If the circuit breaker trips or the fuse blows when using your Char-Broil Smoker, avoid using other electrical appliances on the same circuit. Moisture in the controller or electrical connections can also cause this, so keep all connections dry and do not use the smoker in the rain. You can also try turning the smoker OFF and unplugging it from the outlet. Unplug and reconnect the thermostat connections and if problems persist, the thermostat kit or power supply cord kit may need replacement. Refer to the online Electrical Replacement Manual for detailed instructions.

How to prevent flare-ups in my Char-Broil 17202004 Smokers?
    • B
      Bethany JohnsonAug 23, 2025
Flare-ups in your Char-Broil Smoker can occur due to excess fat in the meat. Trim the fat before cooking to help prevent this. High cooking temperatures can also cause flare-ups, so adjust the temperature as needed. Lastly, grease buildup can ignite, so regularly clean the smoker, cooking grates, drip pan, grease tray, and water pan.
