Maintenance/Servicing
Operation
1. Connect the unit to the mains supply and switch on. The Green Power LEDs illuminate. The
fans may run, depending on the temperature.
2. Apply a signal to the unit. The Green Signal LED(s) illuminate.
3. The Red Clip LED(s) illuminate if overdriving is imminent.
1. Turn down the gain controls to the minimum position
2. Switch off the unit using the power switch on the front panel.
3. Disconnect the unit from the power supply.
Mains Power Supply Failure. When power is restored, the unit AutoMutes for ten seconds.
Do not increase gain settings during this period.
Shorted Output. The unit can operate indefinitely into a shorted output. A circuit operates
instantaneously to protect the amplifier. Upon removal of the short circuit, normal operation
resumes.
Low Load Impedance. Protection is immediate.
Clipping. The affected channels red Clip LED illuminates shortly before clipping. A further
increase in signal level will result in clipping and activation of the soft-clip circuit.
DC or Very Low Frequency signal at output. A self-resetting circuit activates to protect
the load.
RF at output. A circuit activates to protect speakers from HF burnout.
Cooling systems. The internal fans react to both signal level and temperature inside the unit.
Under conditions of high ambient temperature, the fan speed will increase even in the absence
of signal.
Keep Sound Levels Down! High levels of sound can damage hearing.

All servicing and internal maintenance must be referred to an authorised Chevin dealer.
Do not remove any covers or touch any internal parts.
Do not allow any objects, e.g., screwdrivers or cable ends to enter the unit.
Water. If the unit or any other electrical equipment in the system becomes wet during
operation, immediately disconnect the power at source. Do not touch the amplifier.
Consult a qualified engineer.
Mechanical. If there are any signs of mechanical damage - for example, broken parts,
covers or fan guards pushed in, loose internal parts, mains cable damage etc. -
disconnect the amplifier from the mains and consult a qualified engineer
