Configure Internet Protocol (IP) Mode on an
RV Series Router
Objective
The Internet Protocol (IP) Mode tells your router what IP version your local network is using
in comparison to what version the Wide Area Network (WAN) uses. It is important to
configure this option correctly as certain features may or may not be available on your router
depending on what the state of your network is.
This article aims to show you how to configure the IP Mode on an RV Series Router.

Configure IP Mode
Step 1. Log in to the web-based utility and choose Networking > IP Mode.
Note: The images on this article are taken from the RV130W router. Menu options may vary
per model.
Step 2. In the IP Mode field, choose an option from the drop-down list.

Summary

Configure IP Mode

Step 1: Log In and Navigate

Log into the web-based utility and navigate to Networking > IP Mode.

Step 2: Select IP Mode Option

Choose the desired IP version (IPv4/IPv6) for both LAN and WAN from the dropdown list.

Click the 'Save' button to apply the selected IP Mode settings.

Step 4: Confirm Redirection

Confirm the router's redirection to the new default IP address after saving.

Configure Static 6to4 DNS

Step 1: Show Static 6to4 DNS Entry

Enable the 'Show Static 6to4 DNS Entry' option for IPv6 packet transmission over IPv4.

Step 2: Enter Domain

Input a domain name in the 'Domain 01' field for redirection.

Step 3: Enter IP Address

Provide the corresponding IP address for the entered domain in the 'IP 01' field.

Step 4: Save Static DNS Settings

Click 'Save' to apply the domain-to-IP address mappings for 6to4 DNS.

Step 5: Confirm Redirection

Confirm router redirection upon saving 6to4 DNS settings.
