Connecting a USB Device
The function assigned to each USB port differs.
Connect the USB device to be connected to the correct place in reference to the follow-
ing figure.

1: For peripheral device control and wireless LAN adapter connection
Connects the peripheral devices and wireless LAN adapter.
You can connect to either the left or right USB port.
Even when a wireless LAN adapter is connected, you can connect peripheral devi-
ces to available ports.
2: For host computer communication
Connect with a host computer.
The printer and host computer will communicate via USB.
Refer to 3.3 USB Interface
3: For supplying power
Connect a mobile device or other USB device.
Power can be supplied to a connected USB device.
* This port does not support USB data communication.
Refer to 3.8 USB Power Supply Port
4: For wireless LAN adapter connection
Connect a wireless LAN adapter.
A wireless LAN adapter must be connected in order to perform wireless LAN com-
munication.
