Usage Features

Connecting to a Smartphone:

Installation: Download and install the "CITIZEN Eco-Drive Bluetooth S" app on a compatible smartphone (Android OS 7.0/iOS 11.4 or newer).
Pairing: Initiate pairing from the app and the watch. This involves pulling the crown to position 0, then pressing and holding the button for 4 seconds or more until the second hand points to "ACT" twice. Successful pairing is indicated by the second hand temporarily pointing to "ON" (10-second position).
Connection Status: The connection status (ON/OFF) is indicated by the second hand when the crown is in position 0 and the button is pressed. The second hand automatically indicates connection status changes.
Disconnection/Reconnection: To disconnect, pull the crown to position 0 while connected, then press and hold the button for 2 seconds. To reconnect, pull the crown to position 0 while disconnected, then press and hold the button for 2 seconds.

Using Notifications:

Notifications are indicated by the second hand pointing to "CALL" (55 seconds) or "INFO" (50 seconds) when the crown is in position 0.
To cancel a notification indication, press and hold the button for 1 second.
Notification sound can be configured in the app, including the choice of targets for notification (e.g., specific contacts for calls).

Using the Alarm:

Alarm times are set in the dedicated app, where users can define up to three alarms, activate/deactivate them, and adjust sound properties.
On the watch, pull the crown to position 1, and the second hand will indicate the alarm setting (ON/OFF). Pressing the button switches the alarm on or off.
When the set alarm time arrives and the alarm is active, the second hand stops, and the alarm sounds. Pressing the button stops the alarm.

Searching the Smartphone:

To use this feature, pull the crown to position 2. The second hand points to "FIND" (30-second position), and the smartphone emits a sound.
To stop the sound, follow instructions on the smartphone screen, then push the crown to position 0.

Flight Mode Activation:

Pull the crown to position 1. The second hand indicates the alarm setting.
Rotate the crown to make the second hand point to the flight mode setting (ON/OFF).
Press the button to switch flight mode on or off.
Push the crown to position 0 to finish. When flight mode is on, connection to the smartphone is closed, and automatic time reception is unavailable.

Manual Time and Calendar Adjustment:

Pull the crown to position 1. The second hand indicates the alarm setting.
Rotate the crown to "ACT" (0-second position).
Press and hold the button for 2 seconds.
Press the button repeatedly to cycle through adjustment targets (minute → hour/date → year/month).
Rotate the crown to adjust the selected hand/indication.
Push the crown to position 0 to finish.

Checking and Correcting Reference Position:

If the time or calendar is incorrect despite proper time reception, the reference position may need adjustment.
Pull the crown to position 1, rotate it to the flight mode setting (ON/OFF), then press and hold the button for 5 seconds. The hands and indication will move to their current reference positions.
Pull the crown to position 2. Press the button repeatedly to select the hand/indication to correct (hour hand/date → minute/second hands).
Rotate the crown to adjust the selected hand/indication.
Push the crown to position 0 to finish.

Maintenance Features

Charging:

The watch charges when its dial is exposed to light. Regular exposure to direct sunlight for 5-6 hours weekly is recommended.
Avoid leaving the watch in dark places for long periods.
The watch stops charging automatically once fully charged (overcharging prevention function).
When the power reserve is low, the second hand moves once every two seconds (insufficient charge warning function). At this point, immediate charging is required. If not charged for 3 days or longer, the watch will deplete all power and stop.
The power reserve level can be checked via the dedicated app.

Power Save Function:

The second and minute hands stop at 0:00 automatically to save power when the dial has not been exposed to light for a long time.
The watch continues to work normally in power save mode, but automatic time reception is not executed.
To cancel power save, expose the dial to light. The hands will return to normal indication. After a long period of power saving, it is recommended to check and adjust the time and calendar.

All Reset:

If the watch malfunctions, an "All Reset" can be performed. This involves pulling the crown to position 2, then pressing and holding the button for 7 seconds or more.
After an All Reset, the reference positions, time, and calendar must be corrected.

General Handling Precautions:

Temperature: Avoid charging or using the watch in extremely high (above 60°C/140°F) or low temperatures, as this can cause malfunction.
Protective Stickers: Remove all protective stickers from the case back, band, and clasp to prevent perspiration or moisture from entering gaps and causing skin rash or corrosion.
Water Resistance: Refer to the watch dial/case back for its water resistance rating. Avoid operating the crown or push buttons when the watch is wet. If seawater enters, rinse thoroughly with fresh water and seek repair immediately.
Band Care: Leather and rubber bands deteriorate over time. Avoid staining leather bands with volatile materials, bleach, or alcohol. Do not wear bands too tightly. Clean bands periodically.
Magnetism: Analog quartz watches are sensitive to strong magnetism. Keep the watch away from magnetic health devices, cell phone speakers, and other strong magnetic sources.
Strong Shock: Avoid dropping or subjecting the watch to strong impacts.
Static Electricity: Quartz watches are sensitive to static electricity; intense static electricity can cause erratic operation.
Chemicals: Avoid contact with paint thinner, benzene, solvents, or mercury, as these can discolor, dissolve, or crack materials.

Cleaning:

Regularly clean the watch. Rotate the crown and press buttons periodically to prevent foreign matter accumulation.
Wipe the case and crystal with a soft cloth. For metallic, plastic, or synthetic rubber bands, use soap and a soft toothbrush, then rinse thoroughly. For leather bands, wipe with a dry cloth.
Periodically clean the bracelet and case to remove accumulated dirt and foreign matter to prevent skin irritation.
