Why do blades break on my Clarke Saw?
- CCharles LawrenceJul 31, 2025
Blades on your Clarke Saw can break due to several reasons: faulty alignment (tracking) which requires tracking adjustments, incorrectly adjusted blade guides that need readjustment, feeding the work too fast, so lower the feed rate, or forcing/twisting the blade around a tight radius. For tight curves, make relief cuts, fairly close together, at 90º to the curve. Other causes include a blade that is too tight (relieve blade tension), dull teeth or a badly welded/brazed blade (renew the blade), fitting the wrong blade (use only quality blades supplied by Clarke Int’l), or leaving the blade running when not in use (always switch the machine OFF when not in use).
