4.Removetherearwheels,thenthreadonelugnutontoastudoneachrearhub.Thiswillkeepthebrakedrums

cableendandremovecableendfrombracket(4)(Figure20-7,Page20-5).

6.Disconnecttheshockabsorbersfromtheirlowermounts(Figure20-8,Page20-6).
7.Disconnectthefourmotorwires.Usetwowrenchestopreventthepostfromturning.
8.Withaoorjacksupportingthetransaxle,removelowerspringshacklenutsandbolts.Positionshacklesso
theyareclearofsprings(Figure20-9,Page20-6).
9.Ifachainhoistwasusedtoraisethevehicle,liftthevehiclehighenoughtopermiteasyaccessandclearance
forremovalofthemotor.Ifaoorjackwasusedtoraisethevehicle,lowerthetransaxleenoughtopermit
easyaccessandclearanceforremovalofthemotor.
10.Removethethreemotormountingbolts(1)(Figure20-11,Page20-7)andthemotorpositioningbolt(EJ4–4001
and5BC59JBS6390motorsonly)(Figure20-12,Page20-7),securingthemotortothetransaxle.Seefollowing
