Replace the spark plug again (Cleaning/replac-
ing spark plugs – Page 49).
Transportation
Allow the device to cool down.
Empty the tank.
Transport the device horizontally.
Secure the device from shifting and tipping.
Disposal
Disposing of the device
Devices with this symbol may not be dis-
posed of with the household waste. You
are obliged to dispose of such devices
separately.
Contact your community authorities for
information regarding the correct disposal of the
device.
By disposing of the unit correctly you are ensuring
that it will be recycled or processed for reuse. This
helps to prevent hazardous materials from damaging
the environment.
Disposing of the packaging
The packaging is made of cardboard and separately
labelled foil which is also recyclable.
Take these materials to a recycling centre.
Troubleshooting
What to do when something doesn't work…
In many cases, small defects can lead to a malfunc-
tion. You will usually be able to deal with these your-
self. Please consult the following table before con-
tacting the seller. This may save you a lot of effort
and quite often money.
WARNING! Danger of fire! Avoid dam-
ages caused by escaping fuel. Empty the
tank before disposal.
DANGER! Risk to life! Unprofessional
repairs may mean that your device will no
longer operate safely. This endangers you
and your environment.
Error/Fault Cause Remedies
The motor does not start. Tank empty? Filling with fuel – Page 45
Ignition switch at STOP? Set the ignition switch to ON.
Spark plug connector not fitted
firmly?
Affix the connector firmly to the
spark plug.
Is the spark plug connector dirty? Clean the spark plug.
The motor does not start. Excess fuel in the combustion
chamber?
Shift the cold start lever to the
right, and start motor repeatedly.
If the motor does not start:
Remove the spark plug and dry
the electrode.
Spark plug is dirty (tip is sooty)? Clean the spark plug.
Electrode spacing of the spark
plug is too big?
Set the correct electrode distance
(Technical data – Page 51).
Wrong fuel? Empty the tank and fill with the
right mixture.
Is the spark plug defective? Replace the spark plug.
Motor oil level too low? Filling with motor oil – Page 46
Motor is operating too fast. Motor is too cold? Allow motor to warm up slowly, if
necessary shift the cold start le-
ver.
