OIL GAUGE - as indicated by arr ow (5)
This shows the pressure in
th e oil lin es leading from the pump to the engine bear-
ings
and should be watched ev ery tim e th e engine is start ed. Pr essure should be
between 20 to 25 pounds.
If not between th ese pr es sur es check the oil level, and if
below the "low" mark, check for leaks in the oil lines to the filt er and gauge. If
there are none, a qualified mechanic should be consulted and th e engine should not
be
run until co rrec ted.
AMMETER - as indicated by arrow (6)
With the light switch half out (first notch past full-in) the ammet er should show
from 10 to 15 amper es charg e.
IN
STR UM ENT PANEL LIGHT - as indi cat ed by arrow (7)
The switch on
th e panel light will turn the lig ht on only when the ignition switch
is
turned to allow operation w ith out th e headlig hts being on and also to pr ev ent
being left on when the tracto r is not in operation.
BRAKE
PED ALS AND I NTERL OCKING PIN - as indic at ed by arrow (8)
The
br ake pedals should be used to stop the tra ctor, hold the tractor in a station-
ary position,
and to assist in making sharp turns as outlined below :
(1) To stop the tractor, the pedals should be locked toget her so both brak es will
operate simultaneously.
(2) To hold
th e tract or in a station ary position, lock the pedals together, depress
and lock them in
the d epr essed position using the br ake pedal lock.
(3) To
assist in making a sh arp tur n, the pedals must be ope ra ted individually,
depressi
ng the pedal on th e side toward which th e t ur n is to be made.
CAUTION - Always lock pedals
togeth er by means of th e sliding pin, when trav-
elling on the road in fo urt h speed.
BRAKE
PEDAL LOCK - as indic at ed by a rr ow (9)
This is shoved down while one's foot is being removed from the
brak e pedals to
lock the pedals down
and thus pr ev ent the tr act or from moving.
ENGINE SPEED CONTROL LE VER - as indic
at ed by arrow (10)
Through the gov
ern or this lever, wh en ad ju st ed to th e desired speed, keeps the
engine speed uniform und
er v ar ying load conditions.
CLUTCH
PED AL - as indicated by arrow (11)
When depressed all the way
this pedal disengages the transmission from the
engine. CAUTION - Do NOT ope
rat e tractor with foot resting on clutch pedal.
HEAT INDICATOR - As indicated by
arr ow (12) . This inst rum ent indicates the tem-
perature of the liquid in the cooling system.
CAUTION - Do
not oper ate th e tr actor with the cooling liquid boiling. Operation of the
tractor at this tempe ratur e will result in-damage to the engine.
GEAR SHIFT LEVER - As indicated by
ar row (13). This is of an automotive type.
