Seating the tyre.
After repairing or changing the tyre you must seat it correctly in the rim.
1. Run your ngers round the edge of the tyre to check it is inside the
outer rim.
2. Partly inate the inner tube with a hand pump.
3. Inspect the tyre to check that the valve is inside the rim.
Edge of the tyre not seated or outside rim.
Deate the inner tube, seat the edge with your hands and partially
inate the inner tube for inspection. If the edge is correctly seated,
inate to the recommended pressure.
For it to work safely, the pedal axle must be xed rmly into the thread
of the crank arms.
Replace damaged pedals in any case.
Start screwing in each pedal axle by hand so as not to damage the
thread of the crank arm.
1. Look for the letters “R” or “L” printed on the pedal’s axle.
2. Screw in the pedal marked “R” on the right crank arm (the same side
as the sprockets). Then turn the axle clockwise. Tighten rmly with
an open-end wrench of 15 mm.
3. Screw in the pedal marked “L” on the left side of the bicycle. Turn
the pedal’s axle anti-clockwise and tighten rmly with the open-end
wrench.
Make sure that each pedal is properly tightened. It is important to wear
the right footwear for riding your bicycle.
