Contec ABPM 50 – brief instructions
Step 1 - If you want to pre-program the ABPM with patient name, do this first:
Download software.
Insert fresh batteries in ABPM – Always!
Attach ABPM to PC.
Select “Upload” and enter patient name.
Select “Continue” to replace current data in receive box.
Your unit is now programed with patient name.
Step 2 – Attach the unit to patient.
Press “On” button to switch unit on. (Hold in for 4 - 5 seconds)
Press “Menu/OK” button to select menu.
Use the up or down keys to navigate to “ABPM”
Press the “Menu/OK” button to enter.
The top item is “ABPM on-off”
Enter on the “END”, it highlights red, press down or up key and change to “BEGIN”
It will ask you “To delete ABPM data”?
You can choose to keep the data on the system or delete it.
You are now in ABPM mode and the unit will inflate every 30 minutes from 07:00 to 19:00 and every 60 minutes
from 19:00 to 07:00 minutes.
Note
You can change the inflation intervals as well as sleep and wake times from the ABPM setup menu.
(Choose ”System Set” from the “System” menu to get to “ABPM Set” menu)
Do this before you activate the ABPM sequence.
Step 3 - Your patient is back.
Take device off patient.
Press any button to wake unit.
The message will tell you that the unit is in ABPM mode and you need to long press OK to deactivate.
Do so and follow the prompts to finish sequence.
NB!! Do not be alarmed when you return to the main screen and there are “0 Record” –
this is not the ABPM sequence measurement screen.
To see the measurements you just took on screen:
Press “Menu/OK” button - This is your menu button
Go to “ABPM”
Go to “ABPM data”.
Press “OK/Menu” to enter.
This is where your data for your last sequence is.
If you want to Download your measurements to your PC:
After taking the unit off your patient, open software and connect your device to PC – “USB Connecting” will display
on device.
Click “Download”
The download will start and the message will display:
