What to do if my Corken Water Pump runs but there is no flow?
    • B
      Briana GarciaAug 7, 2025
If your Corken Water Pump runs but there is no flow, check the valves to ensure they are open, paying special attention to the internal tank excess flow valve. If the excess flow valve is slugged, stop the pump until the valve opens. If the problem persists, reduce the pump speed or install a new or larger excess flow valve. Also, a broken shaft or a defective meter can cause this issue. In the first case, disassemble and inspect the pump, repairing as needed. In the second case, service the meter.

Why is my Corken Z4500 so noisy?
    • J
      Julie TaylorAug 13, 2025
If your Corken Water Pump is noisy, it could be due to several reasons. Check for cavitation caused by poor suction conditions. Sticking vanes can also cause noise. Additionally, inspect the bearings for wear and replace them, greasing monthly. A clogged meter screen can also cause noise, so clean it. If the differential pressure is very high, check for restrictions in the discharge line, ensure the delivery hose isn't too small or long, and slow down the pump. Also, check the vapor release float assembly on the meter and the meter differential valve. Finally, inspect and repair the PTO shaft driveline component if there is vibration.

Why Corken Z4500 will not build pressure?
    • N
      Nancy SmithAug 17, 2025
If your Corken Water Pump will not build pressure, it could be due to poor suction conditions. Clean the inlet strainer and increase the pipe size to improve suction. Also, check the external bypass valve setting. If it is set too low, adjust the valve to a higher pressure according to the instructions. Worn vanes and/or sideplates can also cause this issue, so disassemble, inspect, and repair as necessary. Avoid running the pump dry.

How to fix low capacity on a Corken Z4500 Water Pump?
    • A
      Arthur WilsonAug 22, 2025
If your Corken Water Pump has low capacity, it may be due to a suction pipe that is too small or restricted. Remove any restrictions or modify the piping. Worn vanes or sideplates can also cause low capacity; replace the vanes or reverse/replace the sideplates. Make sure the universal drive assembly angularity is within limits, the yokes are parallel, and the slip-joint is greased. Also, check the bearings and pulley alignment on belt drive pumps. If the vanes are sticking, remove them and clean out any foreign matter, checking the strainer. Replace the vanes if they are swollen. Note that pump without vapor return also may cause low capacity.

What to do if my Corken Z4500 will not turn?
    • W
      William ScottAug 27, 2025
If your Corken Water Pump will not turn and appears locked up, it could be due to foreign matter inside the pump. Clean out the pump and check the strainer in the suction line. Broken vanes can also cause this issue; carefully clean out the pump and replace the vanes. Check for damage to the cam and rotor shaft assembly, especially if the pump has been operated dry. Seized bearings can also prevent the pump from turning; replace the pump bearings and grease them monthly using ball bearing grease manufactured for the intended service. Finally, moisture frozen in the pump can cause it to lock up. Let the pump thaw carefully to break it loose. Add methanol to the tank (on LP-Gas) and check with your product supplier about the possibility of water in the gas.

How to fix a Corken Z4500 that leaks around the shaft?
    • B
      Bradley RamirezSep 1, 2025
If your Corken Water Pump leaks around the shaft, it is likely due to a failed seal or O-rings. Inspect the seal assembly and replace it if necessary. Keep the new seal very clean during replacement and apply a light oil film on the O-rings. Avoid running the pump dry!
