MAKING
PRELIMINARY
CHECKS
BEFORE
LIGHTING
1.
Check
the
heater
to
make sure
that
all packing materials are removed from
it
(see page 4, 6)
of
section
1 showing where
the
packing materials are in
the
heater).
2.
Check
the
grille guard
to
make sure
that
it
is
securely fixed.
3.
Check
the
periphery of
the
heater
to
make sure
that
there are no combustibles or obstacles present
within
the
range indicated
below
.
4.
Check
the
heater
to
make sure
that
it
is
placed level. Otherwise
the
heater won't
funct
ion properly.
LIGHTING
YOUR
HEATER
When you use the heater for the first time or after cleaning
it
or replacing the wick,
wa
it at least 30
minutes before lighting it. Failure
to
allow sufficient time for the
wick
to absorb fuel in quantity sufficient
to
function properly will cause the flame
to
be
too
low and can damage the wick.
1.
Lighting heater
by
means
of
ignition lever
1) Push down
the
ignition lever slowly until
it
comes
to
a stop.
The
wick
control lever will go down
concurrently. The heater will ignite automatically.
2)
Release
the
ignition lever after making sure that
the
heater has started
to
bum. The ignition
lever will return
to
the
original position automatically.
Note:
If
the
heater
just
gives out white smoke and fails
to
start burning, loosen your pressure
on
the
ignition
lever slightly and
the
heater can
ignite
.
2. Lighting heater manually
1)
Open
the
grille guard and push down
the
wick
control lever slowly until
it
comes
to
a stop
to
keep
the
wick
raised
to
the
fully.
2)
Lift
up
the
chimney handle as illustrated and
light
the
wick
with a match.
Note: Do not drop a match end insi de
the
assembly.
3) Close
the
gr
ille
guard.
