Base Component Removal and Installation
WASH PUMP REMOVAL
WARNING
Turn off the power and water to the product
before starting this procedure.
To remove the wash pump, first remove:
Door panel
Kickplate
Lower front cover
Upper front cover
Float switch and float
Air drier duct
REMOVE THE WASH PUMP
Disconnect the wash pump wire connectors.
Use pliers to compress the spring clamp on the
suction hose between the sump and wash pump.
Slide the spring clamp toward the wash pump.
Remove the wash pump suction hose from the sump.
Use pliers to compress the spring clamp at the wash
pump outlet hose's junction with the diverter valve.
Slide the spring clamp toward the wash pump.
TIP: Early units have a plastic ratchet clamp at
the wash pump outlet hose's junction with the
diverter valve. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to
loosen this clamp.
Remove the wash pump outlet hose from the diverter
valve.
Remove the wash pump from the unit.
WASH PUMP INSTALLATION
CAUTION
When servicing, use caution and monitor the unit
for leaks before installing the unit into the product
opening.
After installing the wash pump, install:
Air drier duct
Float and float switch
Upper front cover
Lower front cover
Kickplate
Door panel
INSTALL THE WASH PUMP
Install the wash pump into the unit. Make sure the
pump's rubber foot contacts the floor of the unit.
Use pliers to position the spring clamp around the
wash pump suction hose.
Attach the wash pump suction hose to the bottom of
the sump.
Use pliers to position the spring clamp around the
diverter valve's junction with the wash pump
discharge hose.
Attach the wash pump discharge hose to the diverter
valve.
Connect the wash pump wire connectors.
Route the wires through the wire retainer on the
wash pump.
