What to do if my Craftsman 247.203720 engine fails to start?
    • D
      Dylan BraunAug 3, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine fails to start, make sure that the PTO/Blade Engage lever is disengaged and the parking brake is engaged. Check that the spark plug wires are connected, and the Throttle/Choke lever is in the FAST position, with the choke activated. Ensure the fuel tank has clean, fresh gas (less than 30 days old) and the fuel line isn't blocked. Inspect the spark plugs, and if the engine is flooded, crank it with the throttle in FAST position. Finally, check and replace any blown fuses.

If your Craftsman Lawn Mower is producing an uneven cut, you should first perform a side-to-side deck adjustment to ensure it is leveled correctly. Next, check the blade; sharpen or replace it if it's dull. Finally, verify that the tire pressure is consistent in all four tires.

    • R
      robertnelsonAug 16, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine runs erratically, first deactivate the CHOKE. Then, ensure the spark plug wires are securely connected. If the issue persists, the fuel line might be blocked, or the fuel could be stale; replace the fuel line, use fresh gasoline, and replace the fuel filter. Also, check the gas cap vent and clear any blockages, or replace the cap if it's damaged. Drain the fuel tank and refill it with clean, fresh gasoline to remove any water or dirt. Lastly, replace the air cleaner paper element or clean the foam pre-cleaner, if your mower has one.

How to improve mulching with my Craftsman Lawn Mower?
    • S
      Sarah JacksonAug 20, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower isn't mulching grass effectively, ensure the throttle is in the FAST position. Avoid mulching when the grass is wet. If the grass is excessively high, mow at a high cutting height first, then mow again at the desired height, or reduce the cutting swath. Finally, sharpen or replace the blade.
