  If your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine fails to start, make sure that the PTO/Blade Engage lever is disengaged and the parking brake is engaged. Check that the spark plug wires are connected, and the Throttle/Choke lever is in the FAST position, with the choke activated. Ensure the fuel tank has clean, fresh gas (less than 30 days old) and the fuel line isn't blocked. Inspect the spark plugs, and if the engine is flooded, crank it with the throttle in FAST position. Finally, check and replace any blown fuses.

If the issue persists, the fuel line might be blocked, or the fuel could be stale; replace the fuel line, use fresh gasoline, and replace the fuel filter. Also, check the gas cap vent and clear any blockages, or replace the cap if it's damaged. Drain the fuel tank and refill it with clean, fresh gasoline to remove any water or dirt. Lastly, replace the air cleaner paper element or clean the foam pre-cleaner, if your mower has one.
