    What to do if the power indicator is off on my Crown Amplifier?

      If the power indicator on your Crown Amplifier is off, several issues could be the cause. First, the amplifier might have lost AC power, or the Power switch could be turned off. Ensure the amplifier is properly plugged into the power receptacle. If the amplifier output level is too high, the power supply circuit breaker may have tripped. In this case, allow the unit to cool, turn down the Level controls, and then press the Reset Switch on the back panel.

      Distorted sound from your Crown Amplifier can stem from a few sources. First, verify that the load is wired correctly and that the Stereo/Mono mode switch is properly set. Also, check gain staging and output levels of the mixer or preamp. If the input is overloaded by a signal level that is too high, turn down your amplifier level controls, or reduce the input signal until the clip light goes out.

      If your Crown Amplifier has power but no sound is coming out, there might be a few reasons. Check if the speakers are properly connected. An open circuit due to speaker failure could also be the cause. If there is a short on the amplifier output, disconnect your speakers from the affected channel(s) one by one to determine if one of the loads is shorted. Also, the channel might have been set to standby mode via the IQ system if the Ready LED is off.

      If the Thermal indicator is on, it means the Crown Amplifier is becoming too hot for safe operation. Allow the amplifier to cool. Check for loads less than 2 ohms and for excessive input levels. Also, ensure proper ventilation and that the mode-switch setting is correct.
