Cover all the engine openings to prevent dirt and
debris from entering the engine.

Be careful not to injure your fingers or damage
the alternator when moving the alternator toward
the cylinder block.
Loosen the mounting capscrew of the adjustment
plate (1). Loosen the alternator mounting capscrew
and nut.
Move the alternator toward the cylinder block, and
remove the belt (2).
Remove the fan pulley.
Fan
Remove the four capscrews, retainer plate, fan, and
spacer.
Alternator
Remove the adjusting capscrew and washer.
Remove the capscrew, adjustment plate, and spacer.
Remove the remaining capscrew and alternator.
