Driving indications
Pedals
Make sure you can always step on the brake
and accelerator pedals without any problems.
Ensure that the pedals can return unimpaired
to their initial positions.
Ensure that the oor mats are securely fas-
tened during the trip and do not obstruct the
pedals ››› .
Only use oor mats which leave the pedals
clear and which are secured to prevent them
from slipping. You can obtain suitable oor
mats from a specialised dealership. Fasteners
for oor mats are tted in the footwells.
Wear suitable footwear
Always wear shoes which support your feet
properly and give you a good feeling for the
pedals.
WARNING
Restricting pedal operation can lead to
critical situations while driving.
Never lay or t oor mats or other oor
coverings over the original oor mats. This
would reduce the pedal area and could ob-
struct the pedals. Risk of accident.
Never place objects in the driver footwell.
An object could move into the pedal area and
impair pedal operation.
Economical driving style.
An appropriate driving style reduces consump-
tion, environmental pollution and wear and
tear on the electric drive system, brakes and
tyres. Some tips that are good for the environ-
ment and your wallet can be found below.
Drive with anticipation
An erratic driving style reduces range. Fre-
quent accelerating and braking can be avoided
by keeping an eye on the traic. Keeping a suf-
cient distance from the vehicle in front helps
you to drive with anticipation.
Take advantage of braking energy recupera-
tion
If the eco-eicient driving assistant is deacti-
vated in the infotainment system, position D
is engaged and the accelerator pedal is not
depressed, the car will coast.
If the assistant is activated in the infotainment
system, position D is engaged and the acceler-
ator pedal is not depressed, the vehicle auto-
matically recuperates energy. While doing so,
it adapts to the driving situation and external
conditions, such as vehicles in front and speed
restrictions. During recuperation, energy from
the moving vehicle is used to charge the high-
voltage battery ››› page 141. This causes the
vehicle to slow down.
If the accelerator pedal is not depressed while
in position B ››› page 145, Gear selector,
very intense recuperation occurs.
This also increases when the brake pedal is de-
pressed.
Avoid full throttle
At excessively high speeds, rolling resistance
and aerodynamics increase along with the
force required to move the vehicle. This re-
duces the vehicle’s range. Never drive at the
vehicle’s maximum speed.
Perform regular maintenance
Regular maintenance is essential for economi-
cal driving and increases the service life of the
vehicle.
