Why my DCS Ice Maker is not working?
    • M
      Michael JensenAug 20, 2025
Your DCS Ice Maker might not be working due to several reasons: it may be unplugged (plug it in), the breaker might be tripped or the fuse blown (reset the breaker or replace the fuse, and check for electrical shorts), the Ice Maker selector switch might be in the “OFF” position (set the rocker switch to the “ON” position), or the evaporator and/or bin thermistors may be out of specification (test and replace any thermistor that is out of specification).

What to do if my DCS RF151 Ice Maker is running but not making ice?
    • T
      Tammy CarterAug 22, 2025
If your DCS Ice Maker is running but not producing ice, consider these possibilities: If the unit has just been started, allow up to 24 hours for ice accumulation. Ensure the selector switch is in the “ON” position. Check for deposits on the evaporator plate and clean the unit if needed. Verify the distributor tube isn't restricted and is correctly installed. Make sure the grid-cutter is plugged in. Confirm there's water in the reservoir and no restrictions in the water line or filters. Ensure the drain system is adequate and the condenser fan airflow isn't restricted.

Why are the ice cubes too small in my DCS RF151?
    • A
      angela25Aug 25, 2025
If the ice cubes from your DCS Ice Maker are too small, it could be due to low ice consumption, which is normal. Check that there is enough water in reservoir, the water line isn't restricted, and the filters aren't plugged. If the unit is freestanding, ice cubes can be from 3/8 to 1/2 inch thick. Also, check the distributor tube for restrictions and clean the unit if there are deposits on the evaporator plate. An inadequate drain system can also cause this issue.

    David DiazAug 27, 2025
Why is my DCS RF151 producing so little ice?
    • A
      alvarezlisaAug 27, 2025
If your DCS Ice Maker has low ice production despite running for over 48 hours, check the water level in the reservoir, ensuring the drain plug is installed and the water line and filters are free of restrictions. Inspect the distributor tube and evaporator plate for deposits, cleaning as necessary. Ensure the drain system is adequate and free of restrictions. Verify the condenser fan airflow is not restricted. Also, check for faulty drain pump installation or a faulty drain pump.
  • K
    Kevin AllenAug 28, 2025
Why are the ice cubes too big in my DCS RF151?
    • G
      Glenda HarrisonAug 28, 2025
If the ice cubes from your DCS Ice Maker are too big, the ice slab may not be releasing properly. Ensure the condenser fan airflow is not restricted. The room temperature may be too warm; move the unit to a cooler area (below 90 degrees F). Also, check that the evaporator thermistor is secured properly to the evaporator and test its resistance.
  • B
    Brandy HintonAug 30, 2025
Why is the ice from my DCS Ice Maker not clear?
    • T
      Tyler GrahamAug 30, 2025
If the ice from your DCS Ice Maker is not clear, check the water level in the reservoir, making sure the drain plug is installed and the water line and filters are not restricted. Ensure the water line is not connected to a water softener. The room temperature may also be too cold; move the unit to an area where the temperature is above 55 degrees F.

    Rebecca HuangSep 1, 2025
Why my DCS RF151 produces hollow ice slab?
    • M
      Maurice RobertsonSep 1, 2025
If your DCS Ice Maker is producing hollow ice slabs, check for a restricted distributor tube or a buildup of deposits on the evaporator plate, and clean as necessary. Also, ensure that the water level in the reservoir is adequate and that there are no leaks in the sealed system. If a leak is found, repair, evacuate, and recharge the unit.

    Ryan KingSep 3, 2025
How to stop my DCS RF151 Ice Maker from constantly running?
    • R
      richardsemilySep 3, 2025
Your DCS Ice Maker will automatically shut down when ice reaches the sensing tube and has completed the harvest of the ice slab. Check if the ice maker is level from side-to-side and front-to-back. If the room temperature is too warm (above 90 degrees F), move the unit to a cooler area. Also, check the bin thermistor resistance value.
  • M
    Michael CampbellSep 5, 2025
Why are the ice cubes sticking together in my DCS RF151 Ice Maker?
    • D
      Deanna Carroll MDSep 5, 2025
If ice cubes are sticking together in your DCS Ice Maker, it may be due to low ice consumption; use the ice in the bin more frequently. Also, the room temperature may be too warm; move the unit to an area where the temperature is below 90 degrees F.

    Jennifer RodriguezSep 7, 2025
What to do if the cutter-grid of my DCS Ice Maker is not cutting the ice slab?
    • D
      Derek EdwardsSep 7, 2025
If the cutter-grid of your DCS Ice Maker is not cutting the ice slab, ensure the selector switch is in the “ON” position. Also, verify that the grid-cutter is plugged into the receptacle. Note that it can take up to 35 minutes to cut through a harvested ice slab, which is normal.
