Do you have a question about the Deger DEGERtracker D60H and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The DEGERtracker D60H, D80, and D100 are solar tracking systems designed to maximize energy yield from photovoltaic modules. These systems are patented and feature a unique MLD-control (Maximum Light Detection) system that continuously tracks the point of highest light intensity, resulting in a significant increase in yield compared to fixed installations.

Function Description

The core function of the DEGERtracker is to orient photovoltaic modules towards the sun's most intense light throughout the day. This is achieved through an intelligent MLD-control system that uses sensors to detect the point of highest light intensity and adjusts the module's position accordingly. The system is designed for both private and commercial applications, suitable for outdoor installation and building integration.

The DEGERtracker consists of several key components:

  • Base Frame: Provides the foundational support for the entire tracking system.
  • Mast: The central vertical support structure upon which the rotating head and modules are mounted.
  • Rotating Head: Allows for azimuth (East-West) movement of the solar modules.
  • Elevation Drive (EMO): Controls the inclination angle of the solar modules, enabling adjustment for seasonal changes and optimal sun tracking.
  • MLD-Control System: The brain of the tracker, responsible for detecting the point of maximum light and sending commands to the drives for optimal positioning. It includes sensors for wind, snow, and sunlight.
  • Energy Converter (EC-6): Manages the power supply to the drives and other control components.
  • Photovoltaic Modules: The solar panels themselves, which are mounted onto the tracker's frame.

The MLD-control system ensures that the modules are always facing the sun directly, even on cloudy days, by continuously searching for the brightest spot in the sky. This dynamic tracking capability differentiates it from simpler single-axis or fixed-tilt systems. In the event of high winds or heavy snow, the system is programmed to move the modules into a safe, horizontal position to prevent damage.
