WARNINGS FOR STAFF’S SAFETY
Hemotek 2 could be easily damaged if Operator doesn’t take into account several
precautions for use:
1. Never use any different rechargeable battery then the original one supplied by the
manufacturer: it may damage the machine or even explode.
2. Periodically check the integrity of the battery pack and that no leakage occurs.
3. Hemotek 2 is a high-tech equipment so it is very delicate: DO NOT DROP IT and use it
with care!
4. Recharge the battery for at least 12 hours at first use or after any long staying without use.
5. If you don’t use Hemotek 2 for long period always remove the battery pack.
6. Never plunge the battery in water or any flammable liquid.
7. Replace the battery pack when after a normal recharging period cannot guarantees a
sufficient number of donations (at least 50).
8. Use only original accessories and original spare parts. The use of accessories or
cables other than those specified in this manual may result in a variation of Hemotek
2 electromagnetic compatibility and cause damage to Hemotek 2 and nearby
equipment.
9. To preserve Hemotek 2
performances over time, make daily and weekly cleaning
operations. At least once a year maintenance of Hemotek 2 must be performed by
Technical Assistance Service or by authorized personnel.
10. Hemotek 2 should not be used adjacent to or stacked with other equipment; if
adjacent or stacked use is necessary, Hemotek 2 should be observed to verify normal
operation in the configuration in which it will be used.
11. Hemotek 2 must be used away from medical devices for life support, first aid medical
devices and IVD devices used for diagnosis.
12. Hemotek 2 is a device easy to use, nevertheless to guarantee performances and to work
safely the equipment must be used by qualified operators with a basic knowledge on the
treatment and management of blood and its components. Operators must be between 18
and 65 years old. Mental and physical disabilities of Operators are advised against.
