What to do if DENTSPLY Cavitron Steri-Mate has lavage leakage?

  If you notice lavage leakage from your DENTSPLY Dental equipment, several factors could be the cause. Start by checking the lavage solution bag for punctures and replace it if damaged. Inspect the lavage tubing assembly for porosity and replace if necessary. Examine the handpiece adapter and Steri-Mate® Handpiece for cracks, replacing them if found. Ensure the tubing size is correct and fits snugly on the adapter barb; replace with .110 inch / 2.794 mm I.D. tubing if it's loose. Inspect the O-rings on the Cavitron® Insert, handpiece cable, and handpiece adapter for wear or if they're missing, and replace them as needed using the appropriate item numbers (Green Item #62605, Black Item #62351, and Item #79357).

Why DENTSPLY Cavitron® Insert does not vibrate?

  If the Cavitron® Insert on your DENTSPLY Dental equipment isn't vibrating, the issue could stem from a few components. Try replacing the insert with a new Cavitron® Insert to rule out a defective insert. If that doesn't solve the problem, the Steri-Mate Handpiece might be defective; replace it with a known working handpiece. Alternatively, the Steri-Mate Handpiece Adapter could be the cause. To check, remove the Adapter and plug the Handpiece directly into the handpiece cable; if the Cavitron® Insert then scales properly, replace the Adapter.

How to fix no lavage flow from DENTSPLY Cavitron® Scaler?

  If you're experiencing no lavage flow from your DENTSPLY Cavitron® Scaler, it could be due to several reasons. First, ensure the sterile lavage solution bag isn't empty and replace it if needed, remembering it's for single-patient use only. Check that the bag is correctly installed, centered in the pressure infuser sleeve. Verify the pressure infuser is working by ensuring the release valve is closed and pumping the infuser bag to maintain a pressure between 50 to 150 mm Hg. Also, adjust the Flow Roller Clamp on the tubing for proper flow. Make sure the tubing Flow Roller Clamp is open to allow fluid flow. Inspect for air leaks in the gauge, inflation bulb, air bladder, or T-fitting, correcting any tubing connection leaks, and replace the Pressure Infuser assembly if necessary. Check the h...
