ATEX Special Conditions for Safe Use (‘X’):
• TheInfraredGasDetectormodelPIRECLshallbeinstalledinplaceswherethereisalowriskofmechanicaldamage.
• Theeldwiringterminalconnectionsarecertiedforasinglewireinsizefrom0.2to2.5mm

• TheInfraredGasDetectormodelPIRECLhasanambienttemperatureratingforperformanceof–55°Cto+75°C.
• Alarmoutputlatchingrequirement:Highalarmoutputsmustbeconguredaslatching,eitheraspartofthealarm
operation of the gas detector itself (in stand-alone applications), or as a function of the “high alarm” indication within
the controller that is directly connected to the gas detector (for remote applications).

• Thefollowingwarningisontheproduct:Warning:Donotopenwhenanexplosivegasatmospheremaybepresent.
For ambient temperature above 60°C use field wiring suitable for maximum ambient temperature. For temperature
below –10°C use suitable field wiring for the lowest temperature.
• Theambienttemperaturerangeislimitedto–55°Cto+75°C(forExdversion)or–50°Cto+75°C(forExdeversion).
• Cable,bushingsandtheconduitentriesshallbeofatypealreadycertiedaccordingtorelevantATEXstandard,so
the protection principle employed will not be impaired.
• Unusedconduitentriesshallbeclosedusingstopplugscertiedfortheconditionsofuse(IP66/IP67minimum).The
stop plugs should be removable only with the aid of a tool.
• TheterminalcompartmentforEclipsewithoutrelaysisdesignedforeitheranincreasedsafety“e”terminationora
flameproof “d” termination of the supply cable. If a flameproof connection is chosen, then an ATEX certified cable
entry device certified to EN60079 must be used. The Eclipse with relays requires Ex d cable entry devices only.
• Shieldedcableisrequired.
