devolo Giga Bridge
In order to use a new devolo Giga Bridge adapter
in your network, first you have to connect it to your
existing devolo Giga Bridge adapters device as a
network. This is accomplished by using a shared
password. This can be assigned in different ways:
b Using the G.hn/Reset button (see Chapter
3.3.1 Manual triggering the pairing of a
devolo Giga Bridge adapter)
or
b Using the web interface, in the G.hn menu; as
described below:
Pairing – Using the button
1 Start the pairing operation by clicking on Start
pairing. This may take some time.
2 As soon as the new devolo Giga Bridge adapter
is integrated into your existing network, it
appears in a list of available and established
connections (see Chapter Connections).
The new devolo Giga Bridge adapter is in-
tegrated in the existing devolo Giga Bridge
network and can be used.
Pairing – Using custom password
You can also assign your network a custom G.hn
password that you pick yourself. Enter this pass-
word for each devolo Giga Bridge adapter in the
G.hn password field and confirm your entry by
clicking on the Disk icon.
Note that the custom password is not assigned
to the whole network automatically. Instead,
you must assign it separately to each of your
devolo Giga Bridge adapters.
G.hn domain name
The G.hn domain name determines the name of
your G.hn network and is automatically assigned
when pairing.
