11. Decalcification
To avoid the formation of limescale (cause of pump breakage, pipe obstruction, etc.) it is
advisable to perform a descaling treatment every 3 – 4 months. To perform this opera-
tion yourself, it is possible to use a non-toxic and/or non-harmful decalcifying product for
coffee machines, commonly available on the market, with the following methods of use:
1. remove the water bottle from the upright;
2. insert the decalcifier bottle (undiluted) into the upright;
3. insert the filler pipe inside the decalcifier bottle;
4. turn on the machine by pressing the green switch;
5. press the coffee dispensing switch (orange) in order to be able to introduce the solu-
tion inside the machine;
6. gradually remove the descaling solution by means of a container positioned under
the coffee dispensing spout;
7. intermittently dispense the descaling agent, approximately 75 ml at a time, letting it
act for around 5 to 10 minutes and repeat the operation until the descaling solution
is depleted;
8. remove the decalcifier bottle (empty) and insert a bottle full of clean water;
9. dispense approximately 1 l of water intermittently, being sure to turn off the orange
indicator light every three cycles;
10. after completing these operations, replace the bottle with another of drinking water
to dispense the coffee.
NOTA:
in case of the Frog Vapor version, insert both pipes inside the descaler bottle, press the
steam function switch (red) and then the steam dispensing button (blue). Repeat the oper-
ation for 3 times at 5 minute intervals.
NOTE:
the procedure indicated refers to use of the BOMBA PLUS decalcifier, which can be pur-
chased directly from our online store www.didiessesrl.eu.
For the use of other types of descaler refer to the label on the chosen product.
ATTENTION:
never use vinegar as a descaler.
The descaling solution must be disposed of in accordance with the manufacturer’s instruc-
tions and/or with the regulations in force in the country of use.
