Troubleshooting
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION
Clutch will not engage 1. Fuse is blown.
2. Low voltage supply at the clutch.
3. Damaged coil.
4. Inadequate current supply.
5. Rotor/armature airgap is too large.
1. Replace fuse. Check coil
resistance, battery charge,
charging system, and wiring
connections and replace if
necessary.
2. Check coil resistance, battery
charge, charging system, and
wiring connections and replace if
necessary.
3. Replace clutch.
4. Repair or replace clutch lead wire
or electrical system. Clean
connector contacts.
5. Remove shim or replace clutch.
