What to do if my DR SP22 engine will not start?

  If the engine of your DR Lawn Mower won't start, ensure the blade control lever is in the operating position and the fuel valve is in the ON position. Also, make sure the spark plug wire is properly attached and that the engine has the correct amount of clean oil. Use fresh, clean, unleaded gas, and check that the air filter is clean. Finally, ensure the spark plug is clean; if it's oily, remove it, cover the spark plug hole with a rag, pull the recoil cord several times to clear any oil from the cylinder, then wipe and reinsert the spark plug. If the engine is difficult to start in heavy or high grass, move the mower to a clean, dry surface.

Wipe off the spark plug and reinstall it.

  If your DR Lawn Mower engine lacks power or isn't running smoothly, first check the height of cut settings and raise it if the grass is high. Allow the engine to fully warm up if it is cold. Clean the blade housing of grass and debris. Clear any debris from the air filter intake. Ensure the engine's blower housing, throttle linkage, and cooling fins are free of debris. Check that the air filter is clean and dry the spark plug wire connection. If the spark plug is dirty or cracked, replace it; if it’s oily, remove it, hold a rag over the spark plug hole, pull the recoil cord several times to blow out any oil, then wipe and reinsert it. Use fresh, clean, unleaded gas, and ensure the engine has the right amount of clean oil.
