What to do if my DR Lawn Mower engine won’t start?
    • J
      Jason SmithJul 26, 2025
To troubleshoot a DR Lawn Mower engine that won’t start: * Ensure the spark plug wire is connected. * Verify the key is in the START position. * Use fresh, clean gas, and add a fuel stabilizer if storing gas for over a month. * Check the Fuel Filter to ensure it is clear; remove the fuel line from the engine side of the filter to check for free flow. * Check the Throttle adjustment and travel. * Confirm the Blade Engagement Control Lever is down and the Shift Lever is in NEUTRAL. * Inspect the spark plug; replace if dirty or cracked. * If the spark plug is oily, remove it, cover the spark plug hole with a rag, pull the recoil cord several times to clear oil from the cylinder, and then clean and reinsert the spark plug.

Why is the recoil on my DR SCOUT Lawn Mower hard to pull?

      Morgan NewtonAug 11, 2025
If the recoil on your DR Lawn Mower is difficult to pull, make sure the Blade Control Lever is correctly adjusted and released. Also, check the engine oil level, as the engine may be seized. If there's an oil compression lock in the cylinder, remove the spark plug, cover the spark plug hole with a rag, and pull the recoil cord several times to remove any oil. Clean and reinstall the spark plug.
