What to do if my DR ALL-TERRAIN Lawn Mower engine won’t start using electric-start?
    • B
      Benjamin SotoAug 17, 2025
If your DR Lawn Mower engine won’t start using the electric start, check the fuse in the wiring harness and replace if needed. Examine the wire connections, especially the ground connection (the large green wire from the battery to the engine). Inspect the wire connections to the solenoid, disconnecting the green battery ground wire first to prevent sparks; ensure all connections are clean and tight, then reconnect the ground wire. Also, check the ground connection on the solenoid where it’s bolted to the frame, tightening the bolts to ensure a good connection. Verify your battery is charged and charge it with a 12-volt, 1 to 2 amp trickle charger if low.

How to troubleshoot a DR ALL-TERRAIN Lawn Mower engine that won’t start manually?
    • P
      Patricia CookAug 19, 2025
If your DR Lawn Mower engine won’t start manually, try these steps: Ensure you're using fresh, clean gas, and replace it if it's old. If you store gas for more than two months, use a fuel stabilizer. If equipped, check that the fuel shut-off valve is turned on. Verify the fuel filter is clear by removing the line from the engine side; gas should flow freely. Inspect the throttle adjustment and travel. Make sure the blade engagement lever is disengaged (down). Check and clean the spark plug(s), replacing if dirty or cracked. If oily, remove the plug(s), cover the hole with a rag, and pull the recoil cord to clear oil from the cylinder, then clean and reinsert the plug(s).

Why is my DR Lawn Mower engine losing power or not running smoothly?
    • M
Ms. Sarah Tapia DDSAug 22, 2025
If your DR Lawn Mower engine lacks power or isn't running smoothly, check the throttle travel and adjustment. Ensure the air filter is clean, replacing it if dirty, following the engine manufacturer's manual. Inspect the spark plug(s), replacing if fouled or cracked; if oily, remove and clean the plug(s) after clearing any oil from the cylinder. Use fresh, clean unleaded gas, and add a fuel stabilizer if storing gas longer than two weeks. Verify the engine has the correct amount of clean oil, changing it if dirty, as per the engine manufacturer's instructions. Also, check and adjust the oil level as needed.

Why is my DR Lawn Mower engine smoking?
    • F
      Franklin Henry DDSAug 26, 2025
If your DR Lawn Mower engine is smoking, first check and adjust the oil level as needed. Ensure you're not operating the machine on too steep of an incline. Inspect the air filter and clean or replace it if necessary. Verify you're using the correct oil type for the temperature, consulting your Engine Manufacturer's Owner’s Manual for details. Clean the cooling fins if they are dirty.

How to fix a DR Lawn Mower recoil that is hard to pull?
    • E
      Erin AustinAug 27, 2025
If the recoil on your DR Lawn Mower is difficult to pull or won't pull out, make sure that the blade lever is in the disengaged position. Try turning the engine pulley by hand with the spark plug wire(s) off; if it turns, the recoil is likely broken or jammed.
