5 Troubleshooting
A status message is displayed in the event of certain device
conditions. The number that appears below the message is used for
service functions. If the status message remains after switching the
device on and off several times, contact DrägerService or your dealer.
Fault/message Cause Remedy
The device cannot be
switched on.
Battery drained. Replace battery.
Volume too low/
sample invalid.
Test subject is blow-
ing intermittently or
not hard enough.
Blow into the mouth-
piece harder and con-
tinuously.
Device outside tem-
perature range
Device is too hot or
too cold.
Allow the device to
cool down or warm
up.
(over range)
Measuring range
exceeded. Alcohol
residues that are still
in the mouth may
cause incorrect mea-
suring values.
A wait time of at least
15 minutes after alco-
hol was last orally
consumed must have
elapsed (see "Prereq-
uisites for use",
page 8). To repeat,
press the button.
Volume too small Breath sample vol-
ume too small.
Repeat breath sam-
ple.
Volume too great Measuring range
exceeded.
Repeat breath sam-
ple.
Sample interruption Irregular exhalation,
abrupt end, or inhala-
tion
Repeat breath sam-
ple.
Fault number Device fault Switch the device off
and on again. If the
fault remains, contact
DrägerService.
