The Powerstroll is electrically operated, so should not
be used in oxygen-rich environments, in the presence of
flammable gases, sources of heat or naked flames — risk of
explosion / fire. Damaged or worn upholstery increases the
risk of fire hazard and should be replaced immediately.
Individuals unable to drive the Powerstroll without
assistance or supervision must not use the Powerstroll
without such supervision. Unsupervised use of the
Powerstroll must be avoided if there is any doubt about the
ability of an individual to operate it safely.
If children, adults with learning diculties or pets pose a
potential risk of tampering with the Powerstroll, its suitability
for use is to be considered during the initial user / product
risk assessment.
When connecting / disconnecting the battery from the
motor or the charger make sure both the power to the
charger and Powerstroll handcontrol are switched o.
Only operate the Powerstroll at a speed that is comfortable
to both the operator and wheelchair user.
Ensure the Powerstroll is secured in transit. It is
recommended that the battery is disconnected.
Warning
Note: Wheelchairs fitted with attendant cable brakes.
On such wheelchairs, the attendant brake levers should be
removed prior to fitting the Powerstroll to the wheelchair.
If the attendant brakes do not have a separate parking
brake facility, then parking brakes should be added to the
wheelchair.
