What to do if my Drive SmartDose CTOX-MN02 Medical Equipment SmartDose won't pulse?
    • A
      Amanda HernandezAug 11, 2025
If your Drive Medical Equipment SmartDose is not pulsing (no green light when you inhale), there might be several reasons. First, ensure the cannula tubing is correctly placed and comfortably in your nose, as the unit might not be sensing your inhale properly. Second, check if the unit is turned on or has powered down; press and hold the Power/Adjust or On/Adjust button to turn it on. Also, make sure that you have installed 2 x "AA” new Alkaline batteries. Furthermore, ensure you are inhaling through your nose and not breathing through your mouth. Finally, verify that the unit is not in Continuous Flow (CF) mode; push the CF knob in all the way to switch to SmartDose mode.

Why is oxygen not being delivered from my Drive Medical Equipment, even though the green light is flashing?
    • D
      dixondanielAug 19, 2025
If oxygen is not being delivered even though the green light is flashing, it could be due to a couple of reasons. First, the oxygen cylinder might be empty, so check the contents gauge on the unit, and if the pressure is in the red, switch cylinders. Second, the oxygen supply might not be turned on, so open the oxygen flow by opening the valve on the top of the cylinder.

Why are the use times different from those stated in the literature for my Drive SmartDose CTOX-MN02 Medical Equipment?
    • L
      Laura DanielsAug 27, 2025
The use times may differ from the literature because SmartDose responds to your breath rate, and volumes will be increased as your need increases. The times shown are estimates and will vary from patient to patient and day to day, indicating that SmartDose is working properly. Another possible cause is a leak in the system. Check the connection to the cylinder.

What to do if my Drive Medical Equipment SmartDose sensitivity drifts or stops working?
    • R
      Richard JacobsSep 3, 2025
If your SmartDose works fine initially but then the sensitivity drifts or the unit stops working, it could be due to a couple of reasons. If the cannula has too much back pressure (pediatric), replace it with a standard cannula. Another possible cause is that the pressure sensor is not zeroed. Power off the unit by removing the batteries, remove the cannula from your nose, reinstall the batteries, power on the unit, insert the cannula, and resume normal breathing.
