Why does my Duluth Forge Indoor Fireplace smell like gas when burning?
    • C
      chambersericSep 13, 2025
If you notice a gas odor during combustion in your Duluth Forge Indoor Fireplace, there might be foreign matter between the control valve and burner, which would require disassembling the gas tubing to remove the matter. Alternatively, there could be a gas leak that needs to be located and corrected.

What to do if burners won't light on my Duluth Forge Indoor Fireplace?
    • C
      Christina FullerSep 12, 2025
If the burner(s) of your Duluth Forge Indoor Fireplace does not light after the ODS/pilot is lit, the burner orifice might be clogged and needs cleaning or replacement. Another possibility is that the burner orifice diameter is too small, requiring replacement. It is also possible that the inlet gas pressure is too low.

How to fix no spark at pilot light on Duluth Forge Indoor Fireplace?
    • L
      Lisa VincentSep 12, 2025
If there is no spark at the ODS/pilot when the ignitor button is pressed on your Duluth Forge Indoor Fireplace, the ignitor electrode may be positioned incorrectly or broken, requiring replacement. Alternatively, the ignitor electrode might not be connected to the ignitor cable, in which case you should replace the ignitor cable. The ignitor cable could also be pinched or wet; free it if pinched, and keep it dry. If the ignitor cable is broken, replace it. A bad piezo ignitor or a low battery could also be the cause, requiring replacement of the piezo ignitor or the battery.

Why does my Duluth Forge 170032 Indoor Fireplace make a whistling noise?
    • N
      Nicholas WellsSep 6, 2025
If your Duluth Forge Indoor Fireplace heater produces a whistling noise when the burner is lit, try turning the control knob to the low (1) position and let it warm up for a minute, especially if the burner is cold. The noise could also be due to air in the gas line; operate the burner until the air is removed from the line and have the gas line checked by your local gas supplier. Blocked air passageways on the heater can also cause this, so observe minimum installation clearances. Lastly, a dirty or partially clogged burner orifice can cause this, so clean or replace the burner orifice.
