What to do if Dyna-Glo Heater has spark but no ignition?
    • M
      Michael FrenchAug 17, 2025
If your Dyna-Glo heater shows a spark but fails to ignite, there might be several reasons. First, ensure the tank shutoff valve is open to allow gas flow. Make sure to fully press the control knob while pressing the ignitor button. If the unit was just installed, air in the gas lines might be the issue; continue holding down the control knob and repeat the ignition process until the air is purged. Another potential cause is a clogged ODS/pilot, which may need cleaning or replacement. Verify that the control knob is correctly set to the PILOT position. Finally, check your propane supply, and replace or refill the tank if it's depleted.

Why does Dyna-Glo Heater pilot light go out when I release the knob?
    • E
      Edward MooreAug 19, 2025
If the pilot light on your Dyna-Glo heater goes out when you release the control knob, there are a few potential causes. First, ensure that you are fully pressing the control knob. After the pilot lights, continue holding the control knob for a full 30 seconds. Check that the equipment shutoff valve is completely open. A loose thermocouple connection could also be the culprit; hand tighten it until it's snug, then give it an additional quarter turn. If the thermocouple is damaged, it will need to be replaced. In rare cases, the control valve itself may be damaged, requiring you to contact customer service.

Why does my Dyna-Glo Heater keep shutting off?
    • P
      Patrick CopelandAug 23, 2025
Your Dyna-Glo heater might be shutting off during use because it's not getting enough fresh air; try opening a window or door for ventilation. Another possible reason is low line pressure, in which case you should contact your local gas supplier. A partially clogged ODS/pilot could also cause this issue; consider cleaning it.

What to do if Dyna-Glo Heater burner won't light after pilot?
    • N
      Nathan JarvisAug 26, 2025
If the burner on your Dyna-Glo heater doesn't light after the pilot is lit, the burner orifice may be clogged. In this case you can clean the burner orifice. Low inlet gas pressure can also prevent the burner from lighting, so try changing tanks. In some cases, the burner orifice diameter may be too small.

How to fix Dyna-Glo Heater when there is no spark?
    • S
      stewartsarahAug 28, 2025
If there's no spark at the ODS/pilot when you turn the ignitor knob on your Dyna-Glo heater, it could be due to several reasons. The ignitor electrode may be positioned incorrectly or broken, in which case you should replace the electrode. It's also possible that the ignitor electrode isn't connected to the ignitor cable, or the ignitor cable is pinched, wet, or damaged; replace the ignitor cable, free it from any obstructions, and keep it dry.

    Caleb AdamsAug 31, 2025
Why does my Dyna-Glo Heater smoke when I first use it?
    • K
      Kristin DavisAug 31, 2025
A slight smoke or odor during the initial operation of your Dyna-Glo heater is usually due to residues from the manufacturing process. This problem should stop after a few hours of operation.
  • N
    Nichole JenkinsSep 2, 2025
Why is the Dyna-Glo Heater flame yellow?
    • K
      Kimberly BarnesSep 2, 2025
A high yellow flame during burner combustion in your Dyna-Glo heater can be caused by several factors. It may not be getting enough air; check the burner for dirt and debris and clean it if necessary. A defective gas regulator can also cause a yellow flame, in which case you should replace it. Very low outside temperatures may also contribute, so consider buying a new or refilling your current propane tank.
  • J
    Joshua JonesSep 5, 2025
Why is my Dyna-Glo Heater backfiring?
    • D
      Deanna JimenezSep 5, 2025
Burner backfiring during combustion in your Dyna-Glo heater can occur if the burner orifice is clogged or damaged; consider cleaning the burner orifice. Alternatively, the burner itself could be damaged. A damaged gas regulator may also be the cause, and you should replace it.

    Richard SmithSep 7, 2025
Why does my Dyna-Glo Heater smell like gas when it's running?
    • S
      Stephen SimmonsSep 8, 2025
If you notice a gas odor during combustion with your Dyna-Glo heater, it could be due to foreign matter between the control valve and burner; disassemble the gas tubing and remove any foreign material. It could also indicate a gas leak, in which case you need to locate and correct all leaks.

    Kristine JenkinsSep 12, 2025
Why do I smell gas from my Dyna-Glo Heater when it is off?
    • C
      Cassandra MillerSep 12, 2025
If you smell gas from your Dyna-Glo heater even when the control knob is in the OFF position, it could be due to a gas leak; locate and correct all leaks. Alternatively, the control valve might be defective.
