Why won't my Eastwood Welding System arc start?
- DDiana RobinsonAug 20, 2025
If the arc is triggered but the welding system won't start, there could be several reasons. First, ensure a complete circuit by checking the ground connection. Make sure the ground is on a clean surface near the welding area and weld towards it. Second, verify you're using the correct tungsten for the base metal; pure tungsten is typically for aluminum, while thoriated is for steel. Third, confirm your shielding gas cylinder is fully open and set to the correct flow rate. Lastly, check that the polarity is set correctly for the material you're welding. AC is usually for aluminum, and DC is for steel.
