Porosity in the weld bead can occur due to several factors. Ensure proper gas flow by adjusting the shielding gas flow rate and checking for leaks. Clean the filler metal to remove any contaminants. Also, clean the base metal to eliminate oil, debris, coatings, or moisture. Protect the welding area from wind or fans that could disrupt the shielding gas. Finally, adjust the tungsten stick out to be 1/8 to 1/4 inch from the collet.
