Do you have a question about the ebm-papst R2E190-AO26-05 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document outlines the operating instructions for the R2E190-AO26-05 device, a built-in fan designed for moving air. It provides crucial information regarding safety, proper use, technical specifications, connection, start-up, and maintenance.

Function Description

The R2E190-AO26-05 is primarily designed as a built-in device for moving air, adhering strictly to its technical data. Any other or secondary use is considered improper and constitutes a misuse of the device. It is intended for applications where air density is approximately 1.2 kg/m³. The device operates with a clockwise direction of rotation, as seen from the rotor.

IEC 60990): < 0.75 mA Motor Protection: Thermal overload protector (TOP) wired internally Cable Exit: Variable Protection Class: I (if protective earth is connected by customer) Product Conforming to Standard: EN 60335-1; CE Approval: CCC; GOST

The device is designed for a maximum of one million load cycles for its rotating parts under cyclic speed loads.

Usage Features

Proper Use Conditions:

  • Operation within the permitted ambient temperature range (refer to chapter 3.5 Transport and storage conditions and chapter 3.2 Nominal data).
  • Operation with all protective features in place.
  • Adherence to the operating instructions.

Improper Use (Prohibited):

  • Operating with imbalance (e.g., due to dirt or icing).
  • Moving air containing abrasive particles.
  • Moving highly corrosive air (unless specifically designed for it).
  • Moving air with dust pollution (e.g., sawdust).
  • Operating near flammable materials or in explosive atmospheres.
  • Using as a safety component or for safety-related functions.
  • Operation with completely or partially disassembled or modified protective features.

Electrical Connection:

  • Requires specialized electrical personnel for installation and electrical system work.
  • Always install a protective earth first and ensure it is checked.
  • Use cables that meet specified installation requirements for voltage, current, and insulation.
  • Route cables to prevent contact with rotating parts.
  • Connect to circuits that can be switched off with an all-pole separating switch.
  • Ensure the cable end is connected in a dry environment to prevent water penetration.
  • Check that type plate data matches connection data and operating capacitor data.
  • Supply voltage must match operating voltage.
  • Use cables designed for current according to the type plate, with protective earth cross-section equal to or greater than the outer conductor cross-section. Recommended use of 105°C cables with a minimum cross-section of AWG26/0.13 mm².

Voltage Control:

  • Open loop speed control with transformers or electronic voltage regulators (e.g., phase angle control) may cause excessive current and noise.

Frequency Inverter:

  • For operation with frequency inverters, fit sinusoidal filters that work on all poles (live-live and live-earth) between the inverter and the motor.

Maintenance Features

General Maintenance:

  • No repairs should be performed on the device by the user; return to ebm-papst for repair or replacement.
  • If the device is out of use for some time (e.g., in storage), it is recommended to switch it on for at least two hours to evaporate condensate and move the bearings.

Cleaning:

  • Do not clean with water jets or high-pressure washers.
  • Avoid cleaners containing acids, bases, or solvents.
  • Do not use pointed or sharp-edged objects for cleaning.

Safety Test (at least every 6 months):

  • Protective Casing: Visual inspection for damage and integrity. Repair or replace if damaged.
  • Blades and Housing: Visual inspection for damage. Replace if damaged.
  • Connection Lines: Visual inspection for secure mounting. Fasten if loose.
  • Protective Earth Connection: Visual inspection for secure mounting. Fasten if loose.
  • Insulation of Wires: Visual inspection for damage. Replace wires if damaged.
  • Impeller: Visual inspection for wear/deposits/corrosion and damage. Clean or replace impeller if necessary.
  • Condensate Discharge Holes: Visual inspection for clogging. Open bore holes if necessary.
  • Ball Bearings: Check to ensure they are quiet, move easily, and are free of play. Manual check by turning the rotor in a shut-off state. Replace device in case of noise, difficulty of movement, or clearance of bearings.

Troubleshooting:

  • Impeller running roughly: Possible cause is imbalance in rotating parts. Remedy: Clean the device. If imbalance persists after cleaning, replace the device. Ensure weight clips are removed after cleaning.
  • Motor does not turn:
    • Possible cause: Mechanical blockage. Remedy: Switch off, de-energize, and remove blockage.
    • Possible cause: Mains supply voltage faulty. Remedy: Check mains supply voltage, restore power supply.
    • Possible cause: Faulty connection. Remedy: De-energize, correct connection (refer to connection diagram).
    • Possible cause: Thermal overload protector responded. Remedy: Allow motor to cool off, locate and rectify cause of error, if necessary cancel restart lock-out.

Safety Precautions for Maintenance:

  • Always disconnect voltage at all poles and wait five minutes before opening the device due to residual voltage in terminals and connections.
  • Discharge capacitors before working on the device to prevent electric shock.
  • Be aware that the motor can restart automatically after a power failure; keep out of the danger zone.
  • Switch off mains supply and secure it against accidental re-activation before working on the device.
