Why is my Echo CS-355T engine cranking but hard to start?

  If your Echo Chainsaw engine cranks but is hard to start, it could be due to several reasons. The fuel strainer or fuel line might be clogged, or there could be an issue with the carburetor. Try cleaning or replacing the fuel strainer or fuel line. If the fuel mixture is too rich, open the choke, clean or replace the air filter, or adjust the carburetor. Also, make sure the stop switch is in the ON position. Check the spark plug gap and adjust it to 0.65mm (0.026in.), or clean/replace the spark plug if it's covered with carbon or fouled with fuel, or replace the spark plug if it's defective. If these steps don't resolve the issue, consult your Echo dealer.

If that's not the issue, the fuel strainer or fuel line might be obstructed, requiring cleaning or replacement. A fuel mixture that's too rich can also cause this; try opening the choke, cleaning or replacing the air filter, and adjusting the carburetor. Finally, check the spark plug for incorrect gap, carbon buildup, fuel fouling, or defects; adjust the gap to 0.65 mm (0.026 in.) or replace the plug.
