Preparation for Use
Saw chain is sharp! Always wear gloves when handling
assembly, otherwise serious personal injury may result.
Note: The machine may be delivered with guide bar, and saw chain
separated. Install guide bar, optional Kick Guard
TM
, and saw
chain as follows.
Instructions to Install Optional Kick Guard to Bar
Tools Needed: Two 11 mm (7/16 in.)
wrenches.
1. Install 8-32 bolt (A) in small
front hole (B) of the Kick Guard
and through small front hole (C)
in guide bar.
2. Install 1/4-27 bolt (D) in large
rear hole (E) of Kick Guard and
through large front hole (F) in
guide bar.
3. IMPORTANT:
Dimple in Kick
Guard must engage recess in
guide bar.
4. Tighten nut (G) and bolt by
hand until snug. Make certain
Kick Guard is flush against
guide bar.
5. Tighten nut (G) additional 1/2
turn.
