Why is my Echo Chainsaw engine hard to start?

If your Echo Chainsaw engine starts hard or not at all, several factors could be at play. It might be due to an obstructed fuel strainer or fuel line, in which case you should clean or replace it. A fuel mixture that's too rich could also be the culprit; try opening the choke, cleaning or replacing the air filter, or adjusting the carburetor. Also check the spark plug: if it has an incorrect gap, is covered with carbon, fouled with fuel, or is defective, adjust the gap to 0.65mm (0.026 in.) or replace the plug.
