WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD

CAUTION

Make sure the bar and chain are free from

any obstruction when starting the chain saw.

• Movechainbrakeleverfullyforwardtolock

chain brake before starting.

• Fillthefueltankwithfuelmixture.

It is not permitted to ﬁll fuel above the shoulder

level of fuel tank.

• Fillthechainoiltankwithlubricant.

Do not over ﬁll.

• Moveignitionswitchto“Run” position.

• Pressthedecompressiondevice.

• Pullchokecontrolknoballthewayout.

• Securelyholdthechainsawasshownand

pull starter handle several times until ﬁrst ﬁring

sound.

• Pushchokecontrolknoballthewayin.

• Pressthedecompressiondeviceandpullstarter

handle again to start the engine.

• Whenenginestarts,immediatelysqueezeand

release throttle trigger for disengaging throttle

latch and returning engine to idle, and pull front

hand guard towards the operator immediately.

  If your Echo Chainsaw engine cranks but there's no spark at the plug, it could be due to an incorrect spark gap, carbon buildup, fuel fouling, or a defective spark plug. Adjust the gap to 0.6-0.7 mm (0.024 to 0.028 in.), clean or replace the plug to remove carbon or fuel, or replace the spark plug entirely.
