Why is my Echo Trimmer engine cranking but not starting?
    • R
      Raymond KerrJul 26, 2025
If your Echo Trimmer's engine cranks but struggles to start or doesn't start at all, potential causes include a clogged fuel strainer or fuel line, or issues with the carburetor. Try cleaning or replacing the fuel strainer or fuel line. If the fuel mixture is too rich, open the choke, clean or replace the air filter, or adjust the carburetor. If there's no spark, ensure the switch is turned ON. Also, inspect the spark plug. If the spark gap is incorrect, adjust it to .65mm (0.026 in.). Clean or replace the plug if it's covered with carbon or fouled with fuel. If the plug is defective, replace it.

      Valerie ScottAug 9, 2025
If your Echo Trimmer engine runs but dies or doesn't accelerate properly, the air filter might be dirty, so clean or replace it. The fuel filter could also be dirty, so replace it. A plugged fuel vent can cause this issue, so clean or replace it. Inspect the spark plug; if it's dirty or worn, clean and adjust or replace it. Improper adjustment can also be a factor, so adjust it. Make sure the cooling system is clean and not plugged. Finally, check the spark arrestor screen; if plugged, replace it.
