      Sandra PerezAug 13, 2025
If your Echo Trimmer engine is hard to start or won't start, several factors could be the cause. Here's what you can check: * **Fuel Strainer or Fuel Line:** These may be obstructed. Clean or replace them. * **Fuel Mixture:** If the fuel mixture is too rich, open the choke, clean or replace the air filter, or adjust the carburetor. * **Spark Issues:** Ensure the switch is in the ON position. Also, the spark plug gap may be incorrect, covered with carbon, fouled with fuel, or defective. Adjust the gap to 0.65mm (0.026 in.) or clean/replace the plug.

What to do if my Echo PAS-225 Trimmer engine runs but dies?
    • K
      kristinaharrisSep 8, 2025
If your Echo Trimmer engine starts but then dies or doesn't accelerate correctly, several issues could be the cause. A dirty air filter, fuel filter, or a plugged fuel vent could be restricting flow; try to clean or replace them. A dirty or worn spark plug can cause issues, so clean and adjust or replace it. Improper carburetor adjustment can also lead to this problem, so ensure it's correctly adjusted. Overheating can cause this, so clean the cooling system if it's dirty or plugged. Lastly, a plugged spark arrestor screen can cause the engine to die. Replace the spark arrestor screen to resolve this.
