Why is my Echo PAS-225 Pro Attachment engine hard to start?
    • D
      Desiree MorrisJul 28, 2025
If your Echo Trimmer engine is hard to start or doesn't start at all, several factors could be the cause. It might be due to an obstructed fuel strainer or fuel line, in which case you should clean or replace them. A fuel mixture that's too rich could also be the culprit; try opening the choke, cleaning or replacing the air filter, or having the carburetor adjusted. Also, make sure the stop switch is turned to ON and that the spark plug isn't defective, improperly gapped, covered with carbon, or fouled with fuel; adjust the gap to 0.65mm (0.026 in.) or clean/replace the plug.

If your Echo Trimmer engine runs but dies or doesn't accelerate properly, it could be due to normal wear, in which case you should clean or replace the worn parts. Another potential cause is contaminants or residue in the fuel. Try replacing the fuel filter or the fuel itself. It could also be caused by contaminated fuel, so you should clean or replace the fuel.
