Your water may not have enough impurities in it. Add a pinch of salt to the distilled water to add impurities, which will allow the machine to detect the water. Alternatively, the water uptake filter may be clogged. Using a flathead screwdriver to pry it out, clean the filter and replace.

Clean the machine out with a mild soapy solution and a soft cloth. You can also add a tablespoon of vinegar to the water in the reservoir and then run a few batches of ice.
