III-3-8-5. IGMP
IGMP is a communications protocol used to establish multicast group
memberships. It allows for a more efficient use of resources and better
performance for applications such as IPTV video streaming.
IGMP Snooping
IGMP snooping monitors traffic between
hosts and multicast routers to facilitate
bandwidth conservation. Select enable or
disable.
IGMP Proxy
IGMP proxy enables intelligent multicast
forwarding based on IGMP snooping
information. Select enable or disable.
It is recommended to set “IGMP Snooping” and “IGMP Proxy” to
“Enable”.
