5 MAINTENANCE
5.1 Preventive maintenance schedule
CAUTION
Before carrying out any maintenance, repair work or adjustment,
Stop the pump, close the isolation valve and wait for 3 minutes.
Press the emergency stop button and switch off the voltage.
Depressurize the pump by venting the process side of the pump, if it is safe to do so.
Open and lock the isolating switch.
Lock the air inlet valve during maintenance or repair.
The operator must apply all relevant safety precautions.
Warranty - Product Liability
Use only authorized parts. Any damage or malfunction caused by the use of unauthorized parts is not
covered by Warranty or Product Liability.
Service kits
For overhauling and for preventive maintenance, service kits are available. Service kits comprise all parts
required for servicing the component and offer the benefits of genuine Edwards parts while keeping the
maintenance budget low.
Consult the Spare Parts List for part numbers.
Service contracts
Edwards offers several types of service contracts, relieving you of all preventive maintenance work.
Consult your Edwards Customer Centre.
General
When servicing, replace all removed O-rings and washers.
Intervals
The local Edwards Customer Centre may overrule the maintenance schedule, especially the service
intervals, depending on the environmental and working conditions of the pump
The longer interval checks must also include the shorter interval checks.
