Overheating can also prevent operation; allow the chainsaw and battery to cool down. Make sure you depress the lock-off button before pressing the trigger switch. Check that the chain brake is disengaged by pulling the chain kickback brake handle backward. Finally, if the saw chain is stuck in wood, release the trigger switch and carefully remove the saw chain and guide bar before restarting.
