Use cinch connectors and/or loudspeaker cable for the connection of a subwoofer to a hi-fi system or home cinema
set. The following options will give an idea of different applications. Careful consideration should be given to the users
manual of the AV amplifier and the loudspeakers used in the set-up.
Digital surround systems:
Standard connection (LFE / Mono In (Unbalanced))
Digital home cinema set
Standard connection (LINE LEVEL)
On many surround amplifiers you will find a specific output (BASS / SUB OUT / LFE) for the connection of an active
subwoofer. This mono signal is connected to the line input (LINE LEVEL IN) at the subwoofer. Since the subwoofer
outputs only feed filtered bass signals to the subwoofer, the crossover frequency at the subwoofer should be set at the
maximum value (180 Hz).
If your surround amplifier does not have a SUB OUT, and the sound image for the standard connection of the AV re-
ceiver does not meet your demands due to the bass management, the following options may be used as an alterna-
tive.
