Why is my Emerson BUILDER wobbling?
    • E
      Emily BarberJul 28, 2025
If your Emerson Fan is wobbling or shaking excessively, several factors could be the cause. First, ensure that the setscrews in the motor coupling and the hanger ball/downrod assembly are securely tightened. Also, check that the screws securing the fan blade flanges to the motor are tight. Verify that the fan blade flanges seat firmly and uniformly to the motor surface; if not, loosen and retighten the flange screws. Additionally, confirm that the hanger bracket and/or ceiling outlet box is securely fastened. Finally, if the issue persists, try interchanging an adjacent blade pair to redistribute the weight.

If your Emerson Fan sounds noisy, several components might be the source. Ensure the blades are attached to the fan. Check that the screws securing the fan blade flanges to the motor are tight. Also, verify that the wire connectors inside the switch housing are not rattling against each other or against the interior wall of the switch housing. Finally, make sure the screws holding the flanges to the blades are tightened securely.
